  Volunteering

The Shiloh Rescue Network is run by volunteers, and we need all the help we can get.  If you are interested in helping, please fill out our Volunteer Application

Once your application is on file, we will invite you to join us at our the new Forum for the Shiloh Rescue Network.

Here are some of the things that the volunteers do...

Transportation:  Picking dogs up from local shelters and taking them to veterinarians, boarding kennels, the rescue facility, especially during the week.  We often need to pick up a dog at a shelter before they close for the day.  Just think - you will be saving a dog's life!

Perform Home Checks:  Before placing a dog with a potential adopter, we like to do a home visit.  This means traveling to the adopter's home, and walking through their house and yard to insure that it is a proper environment for the dog.  You would be checking to be sure that there is adequate fencing around the property, and that the home is free from hazards for a pet.

Fostering:  Become a temporary foster home for a dog.  There are often dogs that need a place to stay for a short period of time, or who need a little special attention while they are looking for their new home.

Training:  Assist people (both in person and at our online Forums) who are having behavioral issues or training problems with their Shilohs so they don't have to give them up.
